3 In 1 Ewaste Bins By Alba Singapore

3-in-1 e-Waste Bins

Info

ALBA e-waste has stationed more than 500 e-waste bins (aka e-bins) across Singapore. See link to map below.

These bins can be found in public areas such as town centres, shopping malls, government buildings, Residents’ Committee Centres, community centres, supermarkets and retail outlets.

In shopping centers, you can find 3-in-1 bins in the big electronics stores like Harvey Norman, Best Denki, Gain City, Courts, Challenger, etc. You can also find them in some Apple shops.

You will NOT find them in grocery stores. The general rule of thumb is that any large store (>300 square metres) should take back the “same class or type of consumer product” of regulated e-waste that it sells.

Hence batteries and bulbs at grocery stores; IT equipment at electronics stores.

Note: The electronic waste slot size is 50cm x 25cm

If your item does not fit in the bin, do NOT leave it outside. Consider other options for your e-waste. There are many.

Accepted Items

Please remove all packaging unless item is damaged. In other words: remove items from boxes. Do not put boxes in the bins.

Accepted E-Waste:

  • Household Batteries (AA, AAA, AAAA, D, C, 9-volt, Button Cell only) – circumference ≤ 50mm - both alkaline and rechargeable (lithium-ion)
  • Light Bulbs – circumference ≤ 100mm
  • ICT equipment: Printers, power banks, computers & laptops, mobile phones & tablets, network & set-top boxes, TVs & desktop monitors – devices must be able to fit through a 500mm x 250mm slot
  • ICT Peripherals: Mouse, Keyboards, Computer cables, Mobile phone wires, Headset, Headphones, Earpiece, Hard disk/external hard drive/ Thumb drive, phone batteries and battery packs

Note that many electronic items DO NOT belong in the e-waste Bin. Read more about Unregulated E-waste here

If depositing Rechargeable or Lithium-Ion Batteries, please make sure to tape the terminal of the batteries before depositing them into the E-Bin. You may also use plastic wrap to wrap them individually to prevent any contact from terminals of other batteries. If batteries are leaking, please place them in a sealable plastic bag before disposing them in the E-Bin.
