Return Right is Singapore’s new national deposit return scheme for used plastic drink bottles and metal beverage cans. Consumers pay a small refundable deposit when buying eligible pre-packaged drinks, and can get it back by returning the empty containers at designated return points.
The scheme officially launched on 1 April 2026. It applies to eligible containers from 150ml to 3L that carry the Deposit Mark.
Accepted Items
Aluminium drink cans and PET drink bottles only.
Note: these machines have been programmed to identify and accept empty plastic drink bottles and aluminium drink cans that have a readable deposit barcode on them.
Check that the beverage container has the Deposit Mark. During the transition period, you may see a mix of containers with and without the Deposit Mark. Only beverage containers bearing the Deposit Mark are accepted.
