Map of Red Packet Recycling Bins

Info

Updated: 07-Jan-2025

During and shortly after the Chinese New Year period, most major banks have collection boxes as well as some companies.

Info:

  • DBS - year round at select branches (more info)
  • UOB - no announcements yet (as at 7 Jan)
  • OCBC - at all 33 branches from 3-21 Feb 2025
  • Geneco  - until 31 Mar 2025

We've mapped out all the locations found on the links above to make it easier to find the nearest red-packet recycling bin near you.

If you do not find a bin at the location indicated, please approach the bank staff. They may be in the process of swapping out full bins.

FYI:

In previous years, most of the red packet recycling bins have were provided in collaboration with Tay Paper which has since declared bankruptcy. There has been no information provided to the public on how this key partner has been replaced or what that means for the recycling process. We do note that Geneco now lists SG Recycle as one of their partners so our best guess is that these red packets are being collected and recycled as mixed paper waste. We are not aware of any special red paper recycling programme. Given the lack of announcements on this issue, we expect no special arrangements have been made for these red packets (something that would normally be a PR bragging point).

Note: this is a collation of public information collected by Recyclopedia.sg. We cannot guarantee that the organisations' information is accurate. In 2023, some members of our community noted that bins were not always where the banks said they would be.

Please inform us if you learn of any discrepancies in bin locations.
