These are mostly B2B businesses that will collect if quantity is large enough. However some welcome drop-offs for single lead-acid batteries (eg Molten). Contact them before heading to a yard.

There are three main types of car batteries in the market today: (1) lead acid batteries for regular cars, (2) lithium-ion and (3) nickel metal hydride batteries for electric and hybrid cars.
Lead acid batteries contain lead which is harmful to the environment and human health, and acid which is corrosive. Spent lead acid batteries are classified as Toxic Industrial Waste (TIW) under the Environmental Public Health (TIW) Regulations.
Lead acid batteries cannot be thrown into regular trash or standard public e-waste bins. They must be handled by licensed TIW Collectors licensed by the National Environment Agency (NEA).
