Upcircle was a freecycling app with a twist: projects in need of stuff, particularly common consumer disposables, could list their needs. These “projects” include listings of various commercial in-store take-back programmes.

The app had a nice intuitive design: it was easy to sort requests by material type (plastic, glass, fabric, paper, metal, wood, etc). 

Do to low demand, they eventually pivoted to include random freecycling giveaways. However with the plethora of freecycling options, upcircle didn't stand out.

There were no announcements about the demise of the app but it eventually disappeared from the app store with no news on their socials. RIP.
