Get involved in Cleanups!

Feb 12, 2025

So you want to do a cleanup…

There are quite a few organisations in Singapore that host cleanups for individuals or can be hired to organise a cleanup for team bonding. These cleanups can be both at the beach or in urban areas.

Here are some of the great organisations you can checkout:

  • Stridy – does both urban and beach cleanups. These are well organised events which include education on the local waste management system. They even have an app where you can track your own cleanup impact. Follow them on Eventbrite, Instagram and checkout their website
  • SG Beach Warriors - an active and gung-ho cleanup group which holds frequent cleanups. Follow them on Instagram.
  • Kindred Community - organises both urban and beach cleanups roughly every 2 weeks. They also run a carbon literacy course in a tie up with The Caron Literacy Trust. Follow them on Eventbrite, Instagram and checkout their website.
  • Small Change - organises monthly cleanups as well as intertidal walks and other environmentally focused events. There are opportunities both for individual participation and corporate events. Peatix, Website Facebook Instagram
  • Green Nudge - is an environmental consulting business which provides equipment and support to groups organising cleanups. They can also run guided cleanup sessions for your organisation. They have worked with many private and public sector clients. Check their website and Instagram
  • The Waterways Watch Society is an “independent volunteer group, bringing people together to love our waters and to inspire stewardship for our environment.” You can participate in their activities by joining as a volunteer. They also organise cleanups for corporate bonding. They are apparently very active based on this facebook post though they do not update their socials often. Follow them on Instagram and checkout their website.
  • Seven Clean Seas - while this group mostly operates in Batam and Bintam, they do run the occasional beach cleanup in Singapore. Follow them on Eventbrite or see the work they are doing at their website.
  • Public Hygiene Council - Want to organise your own park cleanup? The PHC has guides, location info, and equipment you can borrow from their CleanPods. Likewise you should register your event with them in order to coordinate the efforts of different groups. Read the instructions at their website for more info.

Special Mention

International Coastal Cleanup Singapore does not appear to organise cleanups post covid however you can follow them on Facebook for news about cleanups by other groups and news about what's happening to our beaches.

Little Green Men is another group with frequent updates about green events and happenings. We have always been impressed by how “on” these guys are. Facebook (active) Instagram (not so active).
