But in limited doses. Who knew? Some people even dissolve them in water to use as fertilizer. Read here.

It is generally not a good idea to give old vities away. Trash them.
In our climate, once a bottle of vitamins have been opened, humidity starts to take a toll. Vitamins will break down and may disintegrate or have visible discoloration.

Do vitamins expire? All vitamins have a best before date… which is a guideline. Over time, some vitamins may become less potent (particularly pre-biotics which have a very short shelf life). Meaning they will be less effective. Minerals will generally be more hardy than antioxidants due to their stable chemical composition.
Are expired vitamins safe to take? In most cases, old vitamins are probably at worst a placebo (meaning no potency). But IT DEPENDS. If there is visible signs of deterioration, don't take it. Read more here.
