Aerosol Cans

Trash
Controversial: we have been told directly by an operator of an MRF that we should not put aerosol cans in blue bins regardless of NEA guidelines saying it is OK. This is because they pose a safety risk to workers (these cans can explode).
Find another way to recycle them or throw them in the trash.
It is essential that the can is completely empty before you dispose of it!
Alternative
Specialised Recycling
If you can find a karung guni or cash for trash operator that will take them, go head.
Not all will be willing to take these cans.
Also: like all metal objects: DO NOT RECYCLE if they are rusty.

Info & Insights
While metal, it is generally accepted through multiple recycling channels, the safety risks mean these cans may be rejected by those collecting waste metal.
In 2017, a worker died from burn injuries after a deodorant canister exploded causing a fire in a Tuas recycling facility.
